2x2 + 35 = 17x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^2+35-17x=0 now divide the equation by the coefficient of x^2 2x2+35−17x2=02 x2+352−17x2=0 x2+(−17/2) x=−35/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x2−172x+(174)2=−352+(174)2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then Using the Quad formula, x=−b±b2−4ac−√2a (x+174)2=−352+28916

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

that's 2x2 as in two multiplied by two?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

then quadratic formula will not work 2 multiplied by 2 is 4 so that will be 4 + 35 = 17x 39 = 17x 39/17 = x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its how I did it in my quiz a couple days ago

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = (7/2) x = 5
