First, you need to be careful with the expression used. Less than is <. Greater than is >. Less than or equal to is \(\le\). Greater than or equal to is \(\ge\).
With the above in mind, look at the first quuestion.
Problem 1. All real numbers that are less than -3 or greater than or equal to 5. numbers less than -3 is x < -3 numbers greater than or equal to 5 is \(x \ge 5\) Now put the two together and you get: \(x \lt -3\) or \(x \ge 5\) This is choice A.
