the Difference means subtraction. so,
'The SUBTRACTION of the original number and the number obtained by reversing the digits is 18.'

This was where I was stuck. I would say y-x=18, but x and y in the first equation are different variable so that wouldn't be right, would it? (Thanks so much for helping me btw!)
