PLEASE HELP ME !!
with what
Using complete sentences, explain the steps in simplifying the expression of each student and identify who is correct.
@LaynaMae check your last post of this question please :)
I know the question is not there , I was typing it out .
@LaynaMae the Khan Academy is a good source for students.
Make use of the following identities: \[\Large \frac{ a^m }{ a^n } = a^{m-n} ; \quad a^m*a^n = a^{m+n};\]\[\Large (a^m)^n = a^{mn}; \quad \sqrt[n]{a} = a^{\frac{ 1 }{ n }}\]
also $$(ab)^m=a^m*b^m$$
Okay .... well that doesn't really help me much with the question itself :(
@ganeshie8
@amistre64 ? :(
@ash2326 ?
the properties of exponents have already been presented to you. the problem itself is just messy looking
Very ..
the good news is that they are pretty much all fractions with a 4 underneath what is 5+7-1? what is 3+5-8? what is 12/3? what is 1+5+9+1?
second one i mistyped: 3+5+8
1. 11 2. 16 3. 4 4. 16
good, now the simplifications give us: 1. x^11/4 2. x^16/4 3. x^4 4. x^16 /4 i assume the problem is to find the one that is not correct?
No, the problem is: Using complete sentences, explain the steps in simplifying the expression of each student and identify who is correct.
using the properties of exponents .... we simplify these results to what we got Joe is bad, the rest are fine
"We simplify these results to what we got" ... what does that mean ?
well, the others presented the oroperties, i thought i helped you organize them and we simplified them to the stuff the we posted .... its up to you to present it in a suitable fashion.
I'm not good at this , that's why I posted it here . For guidance . I appreciate what I have gotten , though .
i wish i could stay, but my office is closing up til tomorrow. good luck :)
Thank you
I wrote down what I think you mean by complete sentences...I hope it helps! :) Oh, attached should be a picture of my work/explanation.
Thank you so much !
