Can someone please help me im very confused. Name the kind or kinds of symmetry the following figure has: point, line, plane, or none.? the figures are 1. 2 2. H 3. 3 4. A 5. C 6. B 7. O

OpenStudy (loser66):

I really don't understand the given information, where are the figures?

OpenStudy (loser66):

oh, I got it

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I'd say they want the symmetry of the letters

OpenStudy (loser66):

yea, 2 is a point H is symmetric , right? @wolf1728

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Actually H has bilateral symmetry

OpenStudy (loser66):

yea, so, all of them but 2 are symmetry.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

2 is asymmetric O has radial symmetry and all the others exhibit bilateral symmetry.

OpenStudy (loser66):

hey @wolf1728 the dog in your avatar is ..... handsome. (I am sorry, don't know how to describe)

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

thanks - actually it's a wolf - they are pretty dog-like aren't they?

OpenStudy (loser66):

yes, but if it is a dog, it's handsome and look strong. If it is a wolf, it is not strong, it looks tender.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

gee - I thought it looked kind of tough - maybe not

OpenStudy (loser66):

hehehe

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Gee, I decided to look up symmetry in Wikipedia and it has a lot of definitions. Anyway, time to classify those letters with the new definitions.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

1. 2 asymmetric 2. H Horizontal and Vertical symmetry 3. 3 Horizontal symmetry 4. A Horizontal symmetry 5. C Horizontal symmetry 6. B Horizontal symmetry 7. O Rotational symmetry I could not find anything about point, line or plane symmetry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much :) here is a funny picture for you lol

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Interesting photo LOL I just noticed I got one wrong. 4 A - vertical symmetry and NOT horizontal symmetry

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

and thanks for the medal !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your welcome, And thank you for your help :)

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Glad to help :-)
