Well you know that no matter how long they stay...it is a 42 dollar reservation fee...so that is a constant.

Our variable (what we dont quite know yet) is how long they will stay....we know that it charges 7.70 per hour..we just dont know how many hours they will take...so we make that = 't'

so we have

7.70t + 42

We also know that they want to spend LESS THAN 80.50 for everything...so

$$\large 7.70t + 42 < 80.50$$
