well since the black tiles cant share an edge they cannot be side-to-side or one on top of another...the only arrangement is for the black tiles to be diagonal to each other
that only leaves 2 ways depending on whether the 1st black tile is put on right side or left side

i wonder of there is a graph theory way to approach it
