Find each unit price. Then decide which is the better buy. Must show work. 1. At the track meet, Justin won the 100-meter race in 12.61 seconds. Shawn won the 200-meter race in 26.32 seconds. Which runner ran at a faster average rate?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

When finding the unit, we need to find how many seconds took for both Justin and Shawn for 1 meter. To do that, we need to divide 100/12.61=7.93 (Justin's time). And for Shawn, we need to divide 200/26.32=7.59. When we then compare these two time, we realize that Justin took fewer time with the fastest average rate with 7.93 seconds.

I need the work shown.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

I have given the work if you can see in my reply. The work is where I divide.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry, I couldn't see. Thank you, though!

@calculusxy So, Justin ran the fastest, right? I just want to make sure.
