What is ionic bond?

ionic bond is a electrostatic attraction between two differntly charged ions..... simply if one element is having positive ions and another having negitive ions they bothe undergo attraction and makes the two elements an compound by formic a bond... since that bond is formed by these ions ... so we call it as ionic bond...
