Was absent for this lesson please help A triangle has a height of x meters and a base of 14 meters. Write and solve an inequality for the values of x that give an area of at most 112m²

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

What is the formula for a triangle?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Area = ½ × b × h

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

we know that the area is 112 and the base is 14 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

so lets plug them in: 112 = .5 x 14 x h

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

so lets alter the formula to solve for H or the height: h = .5x14/112

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it thanks!

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I got 16 lets plug it in and see if it is right .5 x 14 x 16 = 112

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

@Niall did i do this right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup! :)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Oh thanks! :D
