What does it mean to calculate frequencies within a dataset?

i think it they're referring to frequencies as in "how often did something happen" so lets say you rolled a die 10 times, your results were: 1,3,3,5,2,3,4,5,1,3. the number with the highest frequency (appeared the highest number of times) is 3, it appeared four times.
