OpenStudy (nikato):

so thats what u do when u divide. can u factor m^2 -9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that would be (m+3) (m-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1385083383087:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my result would be 8m

OpenStudy (nikato):

so thats correct. and u can simplify it more. what do both those terms have in common?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4

OpenStudy (nikato):

thats correct, 8m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) i though i was supposed to fully factor 32m out first

OpenStudy (nikato):

what do u mean? u cant really factor anything from it. the most u can really do is say 4x8m so that the 4 cancels out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you

OpenStudy (nikato):

your welcome
