As a river’s slope increases, the power of the river to cause erosion usually decreases.

the answer is False, because if a river is going in a downward position "slope" the power of the river will always cause erosion to increase not to decrease but if the slope was going straight no up or down then it would stay steady and if the slope is going upward it will decrease.
