HELP I'LL GIVE YOU ALL MEDALS!!!!!!!!!!!!! GEOMETRY 10. What is the value of x? Diagram below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hello , since the ratios on either side are both 21, and are equal, point x and the other unknown angle will have the same measurement. What two products x + x + 38 will equal 180?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got x = 71

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

i got 100...i must have went wrong somewhere...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it was probably me ... Im so confused

OpenStudy (phi):

you know the two base angles (labeled x) are equal because you have an isosceles triangle. the three angles add up to 180 x+x+ 38= 180 1 x plus another x is 2x , so this is the same as 2x+38=180 add -38 to both sides what do you get ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x = 142 is what I got

OpenStudy (phi):

now divide both sides by 2 to find x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the awnser is x= 71 ? @phi

OpenStudy (phi):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you

I have one more question. Is anyone willing to help?
