well its the limiting sum of a geometric series the terms are 1 + 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 +......... the limiting sum is \[S_{\infty} = \frac{a}{1 -r}\] a = 1st term and r = common ratio hope this helps

well you should start by writing out a few terms.... to see whats happening... as I did I identified the problem as a geometric series... with a common ratio -1<r<1 then used what I knew... try that approach. Post it as a new question as the messaging system doesn't work...
