what is the height h in the parallelogram

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what is the area of this parallelogram?

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

i am at 24(36)=27h 864/27=27h/27 32=h

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

nailed it, nice work

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

basically you find the area of the parallelogram, which is base * height = 36*24 = 864 then you use this area to find the height (using a different base) A = b*h 864 = 27*h solve for h to get h = 32

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

thanks :D i just needed to be reassured that i was doing it right

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
