first set up your equation. you have to make sure that your denominators are both equal. think about what is the lowest number they both divide into. 10 2/3 - 8 3/4 as you can see from your answer choices the 12 is the lowest number they divide into so set it up now to get it right you multiply both numbers the top and bottom numbers by the same so since it takes 3x4 to equal 12 then you multiply 2x4 as well which gives you 8 and the bottom equation. has to equal 12 so multiply by 3 because 4x3= 12 and therefore 3x3=9 now set up your equation. hope that helps
