@nincompoop @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

this doesnt make a parallelogram

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1385156674082:dw| Area = base*height

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

oh well dont i look like an idiot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You look less intelligent than you thought :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do the same thing too, I get going and just forget to really think it through! its the worst when im tutoring!

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

but when i try and graph it it looks weird

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does you graph look like mine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is normal for it to look wrong when you do but when someone else does it, it looks amazing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean nothing rude it the truth for me atleast

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

it is the truth lol

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

now how do i find the area of it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ^_^ sorry to sound mean!! area = base * height base is the distance from point (1,3) to point (3,3) in the x direction height is the distane from point (1,3) to point (7,8) in the y direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its fine @DemolisionWolf

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

oh i see now A=3(5) A=15 units ^2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

demolisionWolf explained it very well. if it still doesnt strike u... have a look at the points in xy-plane.. maybe it may seem familiar :)

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

nope hmm

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

height = 5 correct base doesnt look correct. check again

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

base is 2 A=2(5) A=10 units^2

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

ah ha i got it :)))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice work ^_^

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

ty everyone for the help @DemolisionWolf @Whiteboy1949 @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):
