Write the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the line y = 2x + 2 and passes through the point (6, 3). y = 2x + 6 y = −one halfx + 3 y = −one halfx + 6 y = 2x + 3

OpenStudy (snowfire):

A line that is perpendicular to another line has the negative of the reciprocal of that other's slope. What would the slope be knowing that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = −one halfx + 3 @Snowfire

OpenStudy (snowfire):

Now if you want to find what crosses the point (6,3), plug in x into each of the equations, except the ones you already ruled out with the slope part. (btw yes -1/2 is the slope)
