As Mars revolves around the sun, it travels at a speed of approximately 15 miles per second. Convert this speed to kilometers per second. At this speed, how many kilometers will Mars travel in 15 seconds? In your computations, assume that 1 mile is equal to 1.6 kilometers.

Speed = ? km/s Distance traveled in 15 seconds = ? km

As the speed of approximately is 15 miles per second, so the speed in kilometer is 15*1.6=24 kilometers per second. Mars travel 24 kilometers one second, so it travel 24*15=360 kilometers 15 second.

Try to be extremely orderly. \(\dfrac{15\;mile}{1\;sec}\cdot\dfrac{1.6\;km}{1\;mile}\)
