just distribute the constant 3 to the equation in parenthesis term by term, combine like terms... you can solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3(2x-3)=6-3(2x+1) the answer is x= -3/8 which means that it will be a negative fraction

your problem.... 3(2x-3)=6-3(2x+1) distribute constant 3.... 6x-9 = 6-6x-3=-6x+3 combine like terms.... 6x+6x=3+9 12x=12 x=12/12 or simply x=1, this must be your answer ... :-)
