OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Is this a valid sentence? "A man I was not fond to was killed today"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

si

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Eh...the correct expression using "fond" is "not fond of". So, saying "A man I was not fond of was killed today" would be better. Another alternative is "A man I do not regard fondly was killed today". English has a lot of particular expressions with verbs, so be sure to keep them in mind.

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

I would have said: A man I was not fond OF was killed today

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Either way, it isn't valid ^_^

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Thanks :)
