can anyone please tell me the maximum of this equation? -x^2+10x -4

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

This is done using calculus f(x) = -x^2+10x -4 We differentiate the function and obtain f'(x) = -2x +10 when this function equals zero we have a maximum so -2x + 10 = 0 when x = 5
