How do I use sin-1 on a calculator? I have to find the missing angle of the triangle, which is x, using "sin". I understand the process but I don't know how to get the answer. The opposite side is 42.7 and the hypotenuse is 56.3 (opposite/hypotenuse or 42.7/56.3). I took the sin of that and got 0.7584369449. From there, I'm supposed to take the sin-1, and the answer would be 49.33. The only reason I know the answer is because I checked the back of the book. I only have my online calculator, http://web2.0calc.com/.

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

to take the sin-1 on that web calculator, you would press the "2nd" key then the "asin" to have the input of sin-1 the "asin" would stand for arcsin which means the same as sin-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so first you type in the 2nd key, then the sin, and then the number?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yep :)

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

so "2nd" -> "asin" -> "42.7/56.3)" -> "="

omg thank you so much
