Maggie has eaten 900 calories today. Her nutritionist instructed her to eat 1,500 calories per day. Of those 1,500 calories, at least 20% are supposed to come from protein. Of her 900 calories consumed today, 14% have been from protein. How many more calories (C) from protein does Maggie need to eat today in order to have at least 20%? A. 180 < C < 300 B. 174 < C < 600 C. 126 < C < 300 D. 300 < C < 600

OpenStudy (aggie12341):

C because when you multiply 1500 with .20 you get 300 so the letter b is out. Then where you multiply 900*.14 you get 126. So the main answers is C. For percents you move the decimal two spaces to the left when you multiply.
