linear equation problem...

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

A line that passes midway between and is parallel to both x - y = 6 and x - y = -6.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

@Nurali @ash2326

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is halfway between 6 and -6?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

parallel lines have the same equations but differ by a constant x - y = 6 x - y = k ;k is the midpoint of 6 and -6 x - y = -6

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Well wouldn't 0 be the midpoint then?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yes

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

So as the answer I can write x-y=0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im not sure the format they want, but yes, that is a line that is parallel to the other 2 that is directly in the middle of the other two

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Ok thanks amistre :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yep
