A road sign is in the shape of a regular heptagon. What is the measure of each angle on the sign? Round to the nearest tenth. 128.6 900 64.3 231.4
Draw out the heptagon and divide it up into a bunch of triangles. There you can see that each triangle has 180 degrees. But you want only the outside angles right? So you take away the corners of the triangles in the center which altogether make a circle with 360 degrees. So now you have the total amount of outside angles, but you just want one of those right? So you divide by 7 since all 7 angles are the same to get just one of them. That's it!
|dw:1385402309423:dw| This is an example of what I'm talking about using a pentagon.
im confused..
The eqution to find the answer: sum of all the angles = (# of sides minus 2) times 180 measure of each angle = take the answer above, then divide by the amount of angles
im just gonna go with A
Slow down and read what I said and think about it a little and try to figure out what you don't understand.
How many sides on a heptagon? 7 Sum of all the measures of a heptagon: (7-2)180 --> 900° To find the measure of ONE angle: 900 / 7 --> approx. 128.6°, or A
thats what i said i thought it was A but wasnt 100% sure. thanks you guys. idk who to give a medal to...
