What changes in a chemical reaction?

OpenStudy (ineedserioushelp):

The chemical make up of a thing changes. If you started with baking soda for instance, if you add certain ingredients and a chemical reaction undergoes, the chemical make up of the baking soda changes and you no longer have "baking soda". http://www.chem4kids.com/files/react_intro.html

Wrong topic by the way, you may want to try Science topic next time.

Ive tried but no one really goes on those anyway...

would you mind helping me with one more?

OpenStudy (ineedserioushelp):

Sure let me see

living organisms are composed of millions of organic compounds, each having a unique structure. What element is responsible for this huge diversity of molecules? Describe the diversity of structures that can be formed and the properties of this element that allow this diversity of form to occur.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already did that part... I just need "Describe the diversity... etc". part

OpenStudy (ineedserioushelp):

I had this question before, haha hold on... Carbon is is very diverse because of its unique structure, this unique structure is because it can form chains with other molecules easily. It can make bonds with almost any element and therefore diversity is greatly expansive. Carbon can form single, double and triple bonds with many elements and has a great molecular diversity.

Hope I helped, and good luck on the test! :)
