I had this question before, haha hold on...

Carbon is is very diverse because of its unique structure, this unique structure is because it can form chains with other molecules easily. It can make bonds with almost any element and therefore diversity is greatly expansive. Carbon can form single, double and triple bonds with many elements and has a great molecular diversity.
