What is the solution to the equation? 7(5 + 9) = 7 · x + 7 · 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay use PEMDAS. Parentheses first, (5+9) Exponents? none. Multiplication/Division whichever comes first. 7 times 14, and 7 times x and 7 times 9. Addition/Subtraction whichever comes first. Can't do it. Now isolate x. 98=7x+63 35=7x x=5 :D
