CALCULUS TEST TOMORROW PLEASE HELP What is the difference between the second derivative test and the procedure used to determine inflection points? I fell behind in class and need to learn this. I'm going to have to do an essay on the test which explains this, and I have no clue

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

second derivative is the derivative of the derivative

OpenStudy (da_scienceman):

U can read this from many FREE sources online...inflexion point gives u info on how a curve either changes from concavity to convexity or vice versa. but a second derivative is is a criterion for determining whether a given critical point for a function of single variable is either a local minimum or maximum. But please read and verify!
