i would stack them vertically

-2 x^2  y^3
14 x^2  y^3 

then its just a matter of multiplying down the columns,  this is also a practice of properties of exponents; when multiplying like bases, the exponents add
$$\large b^x\cdot b^y=b^{x+y}$$

Ok that makes sense so then after that my guess would be your answer would be 12x^4  2y^6 ?
