a+bc=d. solve for c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract a from both sides: bc=d-c divide b from both sides: c=(d-c)/b

The goal here is to isolate c If you wanted to solve for any equation, you would use PEMDAS. But when you're doing something like this, you would go in the opposite direction of PEMDAS. So, you would start by subtracting the variable a first. It would then look like this, bc=d-a Can you figure out how to get b to the other side?
