A question about rate of change? I'm supposed to find the average rate of change for the graphed function f(x)=(4)^(x-1)+2. I figured that the two points are (2,6) and (4, 64). I'm not sure what the next step is, I think it's sort of like slope?

find the slope of the line that goes through those 2 points... that is the average rate of change.

The answers are -68, -30, 68, 30. I think it's 30 because it goes up by 60 and moves to the right 2. Is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's the closest one... for your points... but one of your points is wrong.

Oops, I meant 66! I had it written down on paper as 66. Sorry!

you got it!
