An indirect proof would say, if 5/(6x-3)=22, then x is not 40. If we solve for x, we get 22(6x-3) = 5 --> 132x-66=5 --> 132x = 71 --> x = 71/132 since 71/132 isn't 40, If x= 40, 5/(6x-3) is not 22
