What is the equation of the line that passes through the point (2, 3) and is perpendicular to the line y = –x – 3? y = –x – 1 y = –x + 5 y = x + 1 y = x + 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x+1 because the slope of a line perpendicular is the opposite, so the opposite of -1, is 1, and then you just plug in your x, 2+?=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2+1=3 ok I just have trouble with these kind of problems. Thank you.
