How is the geography of the Mayan civilization different from the geography of Mesopotamian civilization? Mesopotamians were not able to grow a variety of crops on their land. The Maya were not able to grow a variety of crops on their land. The Mesopotamian civilization was not built around a major river. The Mayan civilization was not built around a major river.

i would think that it is the third option

I'd probably go with the last one, that the Mayan civilization was not built around a major river. Many of the Mayan cities are located deep within jungle where they were found by archaeologists -- and which has also made finding new ruins difficult. Mesopotamian civilization was actually built around not just one, but two major rivers: the Tigris and the Euphrates. Two ancient cities, Baghdad and Babylon, were both founded along their routes.
