Solve this problem. ( For our Biotechnology ) A father of four children has blood type A. The mother has blood type B. Explain why their first children has blood type O.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have the specific genotype for each parent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyway, for this family to have at least one O blood type child, the parents must be heterozygous of their A and B blood type. For example, Dad blood genotype: A/i Mom blood genotype: B/i * You nned to know that A and B here is dominant trait while (i) is the recessive trait. Using Mendel cross, the children will have the following blood types; 1. A/B (AB blood group) 2. I/i (O blood group) 3. B/i (B blood group) 4. A/i (A blood group)
