How would i make a equation for this fuctions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

look at the difference between two adjacent values and that will give the slope. then determine the degree of the function

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do not use zero as one of the values for slope. 0's y value = b in y = mx + b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so like for number 7 p-128=L?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not quite. this is the way i'd solve it: you know your line is of the form: y = mx + b. you want to solve for m in all cases. you are given b since when x = 0, y = m(0) + b ---> y = b so for 7, y = L and x = p your equation is of the form: L = mp + 128 plug in any (p, L) pair to find m: so if you plug (p, L) = (2, 68) 68 = 2m + 128 solve for m. we get m = -30 so it is L = -30p + 128 plugging in any (p, L) pair should yield the same answer

there are other ways to do it but i think this is the method you need to use

Thanks :D
