From the day Danny Bannerman transferred to Spencerville High School, he was popular with the other students. A talented athlete with a good sense of humor, he immediately became friendly with several boys in his classes and on the sports teams that he joined. The girls flocked around him too, delighted by his good looks and outgoing manner. Nevertheless, though he was friendly enough, Danny never singled out any one girl for special attention.
