Never in my life I've heard the expression limiting- and complementary amino acids (same goes for any possible translation to my native language). But I'm going to dare my self to make a guess: You do know that we have some essential amino acids (about half of the 20 common amino acids) I suppose they are the ones that are being mentioned with your question. We get those amino acids from our diet.
There are also some conditionally essential... for example if the urea cycle starts to fail.
