A constant force F = 2, 8 moves an object along a straight line from the point (2, 5) to the point (13, 9). Find the work done if the distance is measured in feet and the force is measured in pounds. answer in ft-lb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

displacement x: 13-2 = 11 to the right displacement y: 9 - 5 = 4 up Force: 2 to the right, 8 up conclusion: it is harder to move the "object" upwards, because we have 4x the force upwards, while only a fraction of the displacement is upwards.
