hhh

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

right - is there a question about this?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

h = -5t^2 + 4t + 6 h = -5t^2 + 6t + 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right I have that one done :) I need help with the graphing part and this question Use quadratic regression to determine the algebraic model of your scatter plot in the question above.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i'm not sure how you use a graphing calculator to do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me neither

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i'll figure that part out, is it a quadratic relation?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i can find maximum heights for you using calculus but u may not have done that yet

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already have the max height done , thank you on that part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is it a quadratic relation?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i can show you the graph old on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much! You don't know how much you're saving me

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=h+%3D+-5t%5E2+%2B+4t+%2B+6 - thats the graph for u = 4 m/s this graph is called a parabola - the graph of a quadratic function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is it a quadratic relation?

OpenStudy (loser66):

I am sorry, I don't know how to help. I know algebraic way is writing out the equation in other way by factor, then consider the sign of the terms, multiple them together , make a table to observe the increasing, decreasing of the function. BUT to the integer roots, the process is easy, yours is a non-integer -root one. So, it 's hard to explain. Again, I am terribly sorry for my helplessness.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just you trying to help me is a humble act. Math isn't my forte so I'm struggling on this one. Please don't be sorry just the thought counts. Thank you so much.
