x=30 degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is it 30?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Since triangle ABC is equilateral, each of its interior angles is = to 60 degrees. Thus, angle BAC = 180 - 60 = 120 degrees. Since the other triangle is also equilateral, the sum of its three interior angles is 180, implying that 120 + 2 x = 180. Thus, 2x = 60 and x = 30 (degrees).
