OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry i don't study Spanish .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@timo86m do you think you can help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Loser66 @PrinceAbo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tHe_FiZiCx99

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TuringTest

OpenStudy (turingtest):

are you sure that first one isn't "...no nos gusta..." ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TuringTest oops yep sorry it's no nos gusta

OpenStudy (turingtest):

that makes more sense do you know what it says in english?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yea, some of them don't make sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I do but am i supposed to conjugate it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the AR and the ER conjugation but I'm confused on the IR..

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes "Thomas and I don't like the bus. ______ to walk." what is the subject we will be conjugating, and what word do you think belongs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Preferir... how do I conjugate it?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

to nosotros form, stem-changing verbs don't change their stems, so "preferemos"

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

2) We ____ soccer when its a nice weather. Which do you think it is?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

preferir changes e -> ie yo prefiero tu prefieres él/élla prefiera nosotros preferemos ellos/ellas prefieran

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Jugamos @tHe_FiZiCx99

OpenStudy (turingtest):

all stem-changing verbs do not change stems in nosotros

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Correct

OpenStudy (turingtest):

correct

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

3) When it rains they ___ play chess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay so Cuando llueve ellos quieren jugar al ajedrez?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yes

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yeah, though that sentence still sounds a little funny to me, you could also have chosen "empiezan"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TuringTest noo Tu empiezas la tarea temprano

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't be an answer for #4 ?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

if you can only use one for each, fine, but there's nothing wrong with the other sentence

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yup

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

@TuringTest Are you good at math? :>

OpenStudy (turingtest):

jugar = u -> ue dormir = o -> ue preferir = e -> ie poder = o -> ue pensar = e -> ie empezar = e -> ie querer = e -> ie those are all the rule you need @tHe_FiZiCx99 I guess so, but please don't as me to do anything below calculus, there are plenty of other people here who can do that

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

I'll PM you, its simple. The sign confused me

OpenStudy (turingtest):

k, don't clutter this post with it please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm one more question... @tHe_FiZiCx99 @TuringTest I am also confused on poder... Is that like power?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes, or ability depending on how it's used

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

I'm aware of that. :> depends how you use it.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

si puedo hablar español I can speak spanish.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

este político tiene demasiado poder this politician has too much power

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

@blue_eyedblondie which question are you in now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am on #5 and kinda stuck ...

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I don't think you have to use each verb only once or the sentence won't make sense

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Joaquin no ___ rest after his classes. __ read.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Joaquin no dormie descansar despues de las clases. Quiere leer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure about the first one

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

O.o whaat?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

dormir = o -> ue you did the wrong stem change also that sentence makes no sense

OpenStudy (turingtest):

you tried to say Joaquin doesn't sleep rest after class. He wants/likes to read.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

I believe it's: Joaquin couldn't ___ after his classes. __ read.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

obviously "dormir" isn't the right verb, ad I don't think the other is the best choice either

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Joaquin couldn't rest after his classes. He wants to read.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

but then we';d have to use past tense...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True.. ^ but either way.. There is a blank before rest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Joaquin no ______ descansar despues de las clases. ______ leer.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I see a few ways, but this one seems best to me: Joaquin doesn't like to rest after class. He prefers to read.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

^ right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That sounds correct!

OpenStudy (turingtest):

ok, now write it in spanish :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Joaquin no quiere descansar despues de las clases. Prefiera leer.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yup

OpenStudy (turingtest):

muy bien que sigue? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait... wouldn' it be prefiere?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

oh sorry, I didn;t read close enough lol

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

6 is very easy, I'm sure you can figure it out :)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes, it's prefiere

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

My classmates ___ that working in a garden is fun. I __ its boring.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay Mis companeros pensan que trabajar en el jardin es divertido. Yo penso que es aburrido.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

stem change....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would I be included with the classmates? Mis companeros pensamos que trabajar en el jardin es divertido.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

No, they only think that its fun, you think its boring

OpenStudy (turingtest):

no, because you are not one of your classmates they think one thing, you think another

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How is the stem change wrong?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

how did you change it? I gave you a chart above

OpenStudy (turingtest):

pensar = e -> ie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mis companeros pensien que trabajar en el jardin es divertido. Yo penso que es aburrido.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

nope you didn;t change the e, you changed the a...

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

I believe some of these have accents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pensian? what? Blonde moment..help

OpenStudy (turingtest):

jardín is the only one missing an accent

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yes, piensan*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the n for companeros

OpenStudy (turingtest):

^ see how the e changed to ie ?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

#FluentSpeakers lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TuringTest yep

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yes ñ

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I'm guessing none of us are, I have been living in mexico for 3 years though, so I'm conversational

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Arg :3

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Onto 7?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

Living here and speaking it with friends is way better education than 4 years in the US school system

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

^ So true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is my first year of spanish -_- so I will be taking spanish 2 next year and yes I am working on #7

OpenStudy (turingtest):

can you translate it to english? give it a shot

OpenStudy (turingtest):

actually that one requires some liberties in spanish/english translation imo

OpenStudy (turingtest):

go on and try though

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

No it doesn't? :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tu puedes la siesta al llegar a casa

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

O.o
