OpenStudy (ashy98):

whats the sum of x and 14 is equal to x multiplied by 3?? Find the value of x???(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the sum of x and 14 is x+14. x multiplied by 3 is 3x. so we have x+14=3x. do you know how to solve those equations

OpenStudy (ashy98):

no thats why im here the algebra teacher didnt give me nuthin to show me what i need to do :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok no problem. the first thing you do is get all of the x's onto one side. x-3x=-14 do you get how i did that

OpenStudy (ashy98):

yeah a little bet !(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats good. the second thing you need to do is to simplify it. x-3x=-2x so the equation becomes -2x=-14. does that make sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ashy98 does it make sense what i just did or should i explain it

OpenStudy (ashy98):

the answer would be x=7 ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it would be good job

OpenStudy (ashy98):

yay! (: thank for helping me !!!(:
