Hypothesis testing question: So I already found out the test statistic, critical-value, and p-value. Here is what I have: Po = .7 P^ (p-hat) = .714286 Alpha = .05 n = 175 Z = .4124013 Z_alpha = 1.65 Ho (null): p = .7 Ha (alternative): p > .7 p-value = .34016 I am not sure what to do in terms of determining if you should reject or accept the null etc... etc..., I know it is easy but I cannot find any notes on it.
How do I know if I should reject or accept the null hypothesis? Here is a screenshot of the problem:
Ho has to have an equal sign associated with it Ha is the inequality speed > .70 speed <= .70 Ho = .70 Ha > .70 we can run a 1-PropZTest using x=125, n=175
1-PropZTest results z = .41239... pV = .3400...
the critical value is the z score associated with an area of .05 invNorm(.05) = 1.645 |dw:1386099832450:dw|
