Caleb took a two and one-half hour nap after soccer practice on Saturday afternoon. His younger brother slept one and three-fifths times as long as Caleb. How many hours did his brother sleep?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well first of all, I'd convert it into minutes so two and a half hour nap= 150min if his bro slept 1 and 3/5 times as long you want to make that into a decimal which would be 1.6.... multiply 150 by 1.6 to get 240 min... convert back into hours and you got your answer

i'm pretty sure that's right, but i'm a little rusty at these kinds of probs, it's been a while

questions? comments?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um yeah so whats the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and me give I\u a medal!:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually you would add 150 and 240 to get 390.... then simplify back to hours.... so 390 divided by 60 is 6.5 so he took a 6 and a half hour nap... I'm pretty sure
