what is the difference between parasitic relationship and mutualistic relastionship

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A parasite feeds off its host without benefiting the host. Mutualist or symbiotic relationships are ones in which each side aids the other.

OpenStudy (gtxmuqsit):

In mutualistic relationship both members of relation got benifit from each other. e.g; Lichen. And in parasitic relationship only the parasite gets benifit and host gets harm and damage. e.g; Liverfluke, tape worm, leech etc.
