What is the amplitude of y = sin(x)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help me please

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Its the range of the sine function! which is [-1,1]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 1 ?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Or if you dunno the graph and you have the equation, the range is the absolute value of coefficient of the function, in this case the coefficient is just 1 and the absolute value is \[\pm1\]

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

The amplitude not range (first line)
