How to find the slope of a line

OpenStudy (arabpride):

do u want to give me an example....? so i can help....

OpenStudy (arabpride):

y is usually the slope of a line

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

What are you given? The equation of the line? Two points on the line?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If you are given the equation of the line, solve it for y. then the number multiplying x is the slope. If you are given two points, then subtract the y values and divide by the difference of the x values to get the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4+y=10

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

There is no x?

OpenStudy (arabpride):
